FAQs About Our Stories And Merchandise

Follow The Creatures' children’s storybook characters, Bubbles the octopus, Robbie the robin and Claws the lobster playing their musical instruments.

What age group are the Follow the Creatures stories for? Our gentle stories, songs, and books are designed for pre-school and early school children, typically ages 2–6. They're perfect for toddlers (like the 2-year-old who loved repeating "Boom Pah Pah"!) who enjoy identifying animals, simple phrases, and calm bedtime routines, as well as slightly older kids exploring big feelings.

What do the stories teach? Each adventure with Joolz the bear, Bubbles the octopus, Robbie the robin, Claws the lobster, and Pedro the bat helps little ones understand and handle emotions like shyness, fear, distraction, gratitude, bravery, and trying again after mistakes. We focus on kindness, friendship, and emotional growth in a heart-warming, non-overstimulating way—no scary or fast-paced content.

Are the books exactly the same as the YouTube videos? The storybooks are perfect companions to our YouTube videos (@FollowTheCreaturesToo). They include the same gentle adventures and lessons (e.g., "Scared of Loud Noises? 🥁 A Gentle Story to Help Kids Be Brave"), with beautiful illustrations for reading aloud. The books add extra details, colouring opportunities (in colouring books), and make great keepsakes.

Who created Follow the Creatures? We're a small family team—Mike and Linda from Edinburgh—passionate about creating calm, supportive content for young children. We draw from real parenting experiences to help kids (and grown-ups!) navigate emotions with love and laughter.

Merch like character-inspired t-shirts, beanies, and more (perfect for little fans to wear their favourites!). Free weekly stories and songs on our YouTube channel.
